A Little Late Because Everyone Has Seen It But Oh Well Here Goes
After seeing The Dark Knight for a second time I came to the realization that the movie deserves/needs two viewings. It is great the first time, but even better the second. Ledger's Performance is twice as good and the odds and ends to his Joker really come alive.
What I was most struck with during both viewings was Michael Caine's performance. Yes he is playing himself, once again, but he has some of the best lines in any of the summer blockbusters. The story of the jewel thief is amazing. The dry humor he brings to the table is unmatchable. While one laughs uncomfortably at Ledger, Caine brings in warming laughs of "told you so's" and one liners.
The movie is great, everyone has read that, or witnessed it. But the movie definitely deserves a few viewings. I can't wait to catch it in IMAX (hopefully the air conditioning will be on there, the second time I went my pit stains were as large as the Atlantic).
But I will have to wait to see it in IMAX (so many sold out showings) with this beautiful weather.

the problem with this movie,is that somehow, the entire world has been fooled by viral marketing into loving this movie. the reality is, the movie, although it is a good movie, it is at best an attempt to turn batman into a bourne movie. the movie was about harvey dent. i can deal with that angle; its a good one, it works. the problem was in the execution. instead of accepting harvey dent, they tried to add a million subplots and other stupid little things that make stupid people feel smart thus creating the "its a smart movie" reaction. the end, haha, that was just terrible. debo was awesome though, but it would have been better if he wasnt just some "righteous brotha" showin the path to the white people. batman and the joker was pretty good, minus heath ledger. dont get me wrong, if you want to watch heath ledger twitch about and lick his lips every two seconds, then hey, heathcliffe mightve stroked you gently enough for you to just love it. it was jack nichalson's jack torrance in the bathroom at the ballroom party with delbert grady. a complete mess of overacting. i cant believe i actually read a review that said something along the lines of "i just wanted to hug him[heath ledger] as soon as i saw him on the screen." alright buddy, we get it, you're said he died. lets move past it and at least give him the respect to take his performance for what it was. the director is really at fault for allowing him to do it every take every 2 seconds. my main problem with this movie is the director. but i also hate that christian bales batman was almost completely forgotten in the heathcraze. batman kicked ass in this movie. every other scene he was kicking somebody's ass. it was awesome.
i saw this movie twice in the theatre, and i had a bootleg of it the day after the movie came out. dont get me wrong i like the movie, ive watched it many, many times. but it wasnt anywhere near as good as people are saying.
